Hi I'm Ellie. Having always had rescue dogs who were in their twilight years I had never experienced the joy of a puppy. Then in 2015 my mum got Spud, a cheeky little Border Collie x pup. I started training with DDTC in 2015 completing the Puppy Foundation course with Spud when he was 12 weeks old. We subsequently went on to complete the Bronze, Silver and Gold GCDS assessments in just over a year, an achievement I am so very proud of. Spud thoroughly enjoys training and still comes along some weeks to practice, although he seems to be getting a bit cheeky recently. I also have a second dog Benson who is a rescue Border Collie, he has lots of behavioural issues which we are working through and he is improving every day. Unfortunately, the club is a bit of a sensory overload to Benson currently and so we are working on his confidence to enable him to come and join the fun. I joined the committee in 2017 and began taking the Bronze Class from January 2018. The club has kindly sponsored me to complete the ADTB qualification, and hope to complete this soon. I always try to make the class as fun and interesting as possible as I think if you don’t connect with it then your dog definitely won’t either. Hopefully on completion of my course I will have lots more to offer the beginners. In my spare time (what’s that?) I enjoy agility with Benson and long countryside walks with both of my boys.
